CIA Spy Cat

Cat Antenna

In the 1960’s ‘Operation Acoustic Kitty” was developed by the CIA. The aim of the project was to use a cat as a form of surveillance by eavesdropping and recording conversations between foreign officials in public areas.

In an hour long procedure a microphone was planted into the ear carnal and a transmitter attached to the base of her skull using the long fur to disguise the antenna wire.

In the cats’ first mission she was released into a park where she was meant to eavesdrop on a conversation between two men but was unfortunately driven over and killed by a taxi right at the start of the mission.
The total cost of the project was $20 million!
